A gentle breeze stirred me awake and my senses were roused slowly thereafter, with the sight of a cloudy grey sky and the sound of the raindrops crashing lazily on the windowpanes and the scent of the earth after the first rains mixed with a 23 degree climate. It made nothing less than a sight in paradise.
Last week, I was speaking to my friend about strictly "girl talk". I must admit that speaking from recent experiences, there is no substitute for some concentrated "only girl" time. We girls have rejuvenation powers with each other and there's nothing more advisable than a holiday with just the girls. For the benefit of the boys who read my blog, I'm going to get into details because as it is with most things in life... what girls do, is diametrically opposite to what the guys do!! It's the way the universe operates.
The ''Girlie Getaway" begins with an invite list. We girls don't just go on holiday with anyone. We only travel with the core group, no acquaintances and vague friends allowed. The second part of the "Girlie Getaway" is to fix the destination--now this depends on our mood, the size of our thighs (how-will-I-look-in-a-swimsuit?) and the entertainment (and shopping) options. The "Girlie Getaway" then goes into high gear with bookings, confirmations and shopping for sunscreen and the right outfits!
Once we're on the aircraft, train, jeep or car, the "Girlie Getaway" takes on a whole new meaning. It is like taking a detox getaway for the soul! Here's the key area where we differ from boys. While we may eat, dance, shop like maniacs, there's also that special "us" time, which allows us an opportunity to expunge our soul of all that troubles us. We give everyone the opportunity to bitch about anyone and cry about every bad or good thing that has happened to them. At the end of the "Girlie Getaway", we may come back tanned, hung-over and broke, but we'll also come back with our minds feeling so much lighter, cleansed of its worries. Howzzat?
From this, I hope you'll be able to identify that a few of my Saturday evenings were strictly meant for Girl Talk. On such one girl talk evening, we decided to make a "Girlie Getaway".
Oh!Thats new to me too Anuradha..seems youve had a power girl talk!!!:)
